Home Thai – CBD

My family is heavily obsessed with Japanese food and so it is quite different when we go out and not eat Jap food. Recently, my mother went to a ‘girls night out’ and tried Home Thai. She came home and raved for days on end before my Dad finally gave in and took us all to Home Thai for dinner. I apologise in advance, some of the photos are a little blurry…

Green beef curry

I thought my spice tolerance was alright… however, when I tried this green curry I couldn’t stop reaching for the water… It was very spicy for me… However, it was really nice and curry wasn’t watered down at all.

Thai Fish Cakes

The fish cakes had a slight bounce in them when you ate them and because my dad loved this so much, we ended up ordering another serve.

Pork Neck

Grilled to perfection and the sauce was a lovely accompaniment to the pork neck!

Pad Thai

What more is there to say.. YUM!

Home Thai take 2!

Because my dad enjoyed take 1 so much we ended up coming back to Home Thai a fortnight later!

Pad C Ew

I have to say I preferred the Pad Thai better… I felt as if the Pad Thai has better texture compared to the Pad C Ew. It was all a bit mushy to me. But, that’s just me I guess… cause it seemed to me that my dad scoffed down the entire plate in like two minutes.

Beef Salad

This dish is full of flavour. I remember the first bite and it was like an explosion in my mouth. A mixture of sour and a hint of sweet. Certainly my cup of tea. We fought each other for the last piece!

Pork Neck

We loved it so much the first time round, we had to get it again! However, I thought the experience of the pork neck was better the first time round. I think it was to do with the beef salad… a bit too much meat…

Soft Shell Crab and Mango Salad

From memory there were two crabs which was split into four… It wasn’t overly oily and the salad was excellent!

Red Beef Curry

I thought I was fairly good with curry… but after these two experiences at home thai, I can safely say that I suck. Once again I was reaching for the water the entire time, but the flavours were wonderful! It was nice and thick as well (not watered down!).

Dough Sticks with Pandan dipping sauce

What more can I say… YUMMMMMMMM… deep fried goodness with an intensely green, delicious pandan flavour dipping sauce. For those who haven’t tried pandan, it takes kind of grassy and florally and nutty all at the same time.. It’s AWESOME! You must promise me you’ll try it!
