Sushi Hotaru – CBD – Galeries of Victoria

I was recently catching up with V, my long time high school buddy (we even go to the same uni… but we hardly see each other… lol) and it was another one of those horrible cold days. So we initially decided to go to Ichi Ban Boshi, but that day there was something wrong with the gas system in the building so Sushi Hotaru it was!! :D

Nearly all the plates at Sushi Hotaru are $3. Only some side dishes and sashimi are more expensive.

Takoyaki ($3)

Who can say no to a deep fried octopus ball?? Especially when it is pipping hot! :)

Hand Rolls ($3 each)

Soft Shell Crab Hand Roll

Unagi and Cream Cheese

Tamago ($3)

Kaiso Salad Sushi ($3)

Tofu Kaiso ($3)

I had a wonderful time catching up with V! She’s always in the know of great resturants!! :D

Round 2

So after V and I met up… I went home and bragged to my parents about this awesomely wonderful and cheap sushi train place in the city… And so they wanted to go as well and the very next day I found myself back at Sushi Hotaru for dinner!

Ebi Fry Sushi ($3)

Tamago ($3)

Kaiso Salad Sushi ($3)

Takoyaki ($3)

Scallop Sushi ($3)

Salmon Sashimi ($6.90)

Sashmi is a little more expensive.. but definitely worth it. My parents said that it was very fresh and melted on the tongue.

Crab Claw ($3)

Chicken Katsu with Avocado ($3)

Okonomiyaki ($3)

Salmon Skin ($3)

Salmon Cucumber Sushi ($3)

We ordered this because it looked weird in the picture… My sister said it was nothing to be wowed about.

Soft Shell Crab Hand Roll ($3)

Some fish sushi.. ($3) – I’m sorry I forgot the name :(
